An Exile Media Forum 2023 took place in Hamburg on 12 September 2023. Participants explored ways and approaches to cooperate, coordinate, and help exile media worldwide. Freedom of speech is shrinking across the world unfortunately, said Sven Tetzlaff, head of the democracy, engagement, and cohesion department at Körber Stiftung. As a keynote speaker and editor-in-chief of Amo TV, Mr. Lutfullah Najafizada touched upon the political landscape and the contribution of media in various fields in Afghanistan. The role and system of media in Afghanistan during the past two decades need to be holistically studied and lessons learned; luckily, EC4SC at Leipzig University has initiated to do so, said Hazrat Bahar during a second session of the event, a participant at the Forum and research fellow at the Institute of Communication and Media Studies in Leipzig University.
