This week, the Research Center for Development Communication – Communication for Social Change (EC4SC) hosted the 11th edition of our Masterclass series. The focus of this session was “Pursuing a PhD”, aimed at students and early-career researchers planning to embark on a doctoral journey.

Over the course of three insightful days, participants gained practical knowledge on how to develop and structure a PhD project – from identifying a research topic and writing a proposal to finding the right supervisor. Another key focus was on funding and financing opportunities for PhD candidates.
Sessions were led by Miriam Welz, Dr. Kornelia Ehrlich, and included an invited contribution from Dr. Freya Sukulla. Additionally, Hussaini offered valuable input on the use of artificial intelligence in research processes. The Masterclass also provided plenty of space for exchange, peer discussions, and networking
