As we reflect on a productive and inspiring 2025, we are excited about what lies ahead. In the coming year, our research project Afghanistan Media System and Public Sphere[s] as part of the Research Centre Communication for Social Change at the University of Leipzig will dive even deeper into the study of diaspora, media, communication and public spheres, advancing understanding and dialogue across academic and public audiences.
We are excited to share that an exclusive documentary film about our project will be released in 2026, alongside the publication of four books. These outputs will bring diverse perspectives on media landscapes, digital public spheres, and diaspora communication to broader audiences.
Building on these publications and the documentary film, we are also laying the foundation for a new research institution called “The Center for Afghanistan Studies”.
