On July 15-16, a workshop organized by the Centre for Development Communication from Leipzig University for the documentary film project “Media Kakophonie im Hindu Kush,“ was held. The workshop brought together journalists from Afghanistan who are living in Germany to share their feedback and opinions on the film concept. To guide the discussion and improve the documentary’s content the program included open discussions, an introduction of the film concept, gathering ideas, and a division of the work. This participatory approach is intended to ensure the documentary provides a complete and authentic view of Afghanistan’s media system from 2001 to 2021.

A similar workshop will be held again in November.

The documentary film aims to make a significant contribution to the discussion on 20 years of engagement in Afghanistan and promote a much-needed change in development cooperation. By presenting research findings along with personal stories from those involved, the film aims to communicate these issues to a wider audience. Find more Information about the project here.
