Diaspora Communication Network in Germany
Following the annual conference titled ‘Diaspora Communication in Germany: From Fragmentation to Participation’, held in October 2024 at Leipzig University, a group of subject matter experts recommended establishing a dedicated network to advance diaspora communication studies. In response to this call, the EC4SC initiated creating and managing the Diaspora Communication Network in Germany. This network serves as a collaborative platform to streamline academic contributions to the subject, primarily focusing on diaspora communities in Germany and committing to advancing global scholarship on diaspora communication.
By bringing together scholars, the network aims to foster interdisciplinary dialogue and facilitate research that addresses the challenges and opportunities faced by diaspora communities. Through virtual and in-person meetings, the network can help mainstream diaspora scholarship and identify emerging topics in diaspora communication. Members of the network can also collaborate on projects they may work on.
