The University of Leipzig invites journalists, activists and students to the online summer school “Transformative Media: Building Capacity for Change in Afghanistan’s Public Sphere” online summer school from 15-19 April. This event is a beacon of co-creation and collaboration, providing a platform for participants to collectively enhance their advocacy and communication skills for social progress.

Structured around the core principles of cocreation, the programme includes diverse workshops on the Afghan media system, digital empowerment and countering online terrorism. These sessions are not just educational, but interactive spaces where ideas and strategies can be co-created and refined.

In a strong demonstration of collaboration, the Summer School boasts partnerships with respected NGOs such as r0g_agency, INSAN Foundation, Abad e.V. and AJSO. These partnerships bring additional layers of expertise and insight, further enriching the learning experience and fostering a community of practice across borders.

Language inclusivity in Persian, Pashto and English ensures wide accessibility, while free registration encourages broad participation. By completing the curriculum and contributing an original essay, participants can earn certification from the University of Leipzig.

This initiative is more than a learning opportunity; it’s a collaborative step towards empowering voices and catalysing change in Afghanistan through media. Join us for this co-creative summer school.
